Women's Basketball Names Tri-captains for 2001-2002 season

The women's basketball team has named tri-captains for the 2001-2002 season. Rada Pavichevich '02 (Norwood Park, IL), Erin-Kate Barton '02 (Portland, OR) and Miranda Craigwell '04 (Weston, MA) will captain this year's squad.
Pavichevich, one of the team captains from last season, was named Second Team All-Ivy in 2000-2001, averaging 10.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. She led the team in assists with 87 and steals with 55. Pavichevich was named Ivy League Player of the Week for her effort in Brown's 67-55 win at Yale (1/19/01), when she hit her first five shots en route to a 17-point night, while also dishing out 7 assists, a team season-high.
Barton averaged 6.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game as a forward last year. She caught fire in the home weekend against Princeton (2/2/01) and Penn (2/3/01), as she scored a career-high 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting against the Tigers and 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting against the Quakers en route to an Ivy League Honor Roll selection. Barton also added a double-double in the season finale against Princeton (3/3/01), scoring 16 points and hauling down a season-high 11 boards.
Craigwell, a sophomore, averaged 3.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game last year as a freshman. She scored 19 points off the bench at Princeton (3/3/01) on 6-of-7 shooting from the field and 7-of-13 from the line. She also picked up a season-high 7 rebounds against Canisius (12/2/00) and came off the bench to score eight points against Indiana (11/25/00) on 3-of-4 shooting. Craigwell shot 50% from the field over the course of last season (31-of-62).
The women's basketball team will open their season at Fordham on Saturday, November 17. The Bears home opener against the Providence College Friars will be played Thursday, November 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
