Brown Named Kim Qancey Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Kim Yancey has been named as an assistant women's basketball coach at Brown University, joining head coach Jean Marie Burr's staff.

"Kim brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of the game," said Coach Burr. "She has been very successful as a coach, as a recruiter and as a player. We are extremely excited about what those three dimensions will offer our program. Kim is a great teacher of the game who will complement my staff and will really be able to help develop the players here at Brown."

Yancey comes to Brown after spending the past five years as an assistant coach at Central Missouri State University. While at CMSU, she assisted with all aspects of the women's basketball program, both on and off the court.

Prior to her five years at CMSU, Yancey served as a volunteer assistant coach at The Univeristy of Nebraska-Omaha for the 1993-1994 season, which was followed by a one-year stint as an assiststant coach at The University of Nebraska-Kearney.

A 1993 graduate of The University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Health, Yancey was a four-year member of the women's basketball team. She also served as a student assistant coach for the Cornhuskers during the 1992-1993 season. Yancey is currently working on her Masters of Science in Sport Administration from CMSU.
