Providence, RI - Casimir Grygorcewicz has stepped down from his post as the third assistant to Brown Head Women's Basketball Coach Jean Marie Burr in order to accept a head coach's position at the Community College of Rhode Island.

Grygorcewicz came to Brown last fall after serving as the head women's basketball coach at Mitchell College in New London, CT for eight years. While at Mitchell, he compiled a record of 197-32 and his 2002-03 team went 30-3 overall and finished the season ranked second in the nation.

He was named the NJCAA District Coach of the Year in 1998, 2000, 2001, and 2003. While at Mitchell, Grygorcewicz was also an academic advisor, a position he will continue to hold in addition to his coaching duties.

Grygorcewicz inherits a program at CCRI that advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament, posting a 22-10 record this past season.

A search will begin immediately for Grygorcewicz replacement at Brown
