Providence, RI - After a stellar performance against Columbia on Friday evening, freshman Lindsay Walls (Santa Cruz, CA) has earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors for the first time this season.
Walls, who has recently earned a starting position in the Bears' lineup in the last five games, played 39 minutes against the Columbia Lions on Friday in an exciting, 72-69, double-overtime victory. Walls poured in a career-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds during the win, going 8-14 from the field, and three-for-three from the free-throw line.
Walls is currently averaging 5.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game for Brown and has been an integral part of the Bears' offense. In conference play, she is averaging 6.7 points and 3.7 rebounds per game and playing 21 minutes per game.
The Bears will host Princeton and Penn this weekend for their final games of the season. They will challenge the Tigers at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 2, and will then take on the Quakers during senior night on Saturday, March 3, at 7:00 p.m.
