Junior Nyema Mitchell (Birmingham, AL) captured the Bears fifth Ivy League Honor in the past four weeks after being named Ivy League Player of the Week for the week of January 27, 2003.
In just 25 minutes of action, Mitchell recorded her third double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and pulling down 13 boards as the Bears knocked off Yale 70-55. She also had six blocked shots as the Bears won their fifth game in a row, improving to 8-7 overall and 2-0 in League play. So far this season, Mitchell ranks fifth in the League in scoring at 14.7 ppg and fourth in rebounding at 8.0 boards per contest.
Mitchell who led the Ivy League in blocked shots after the 2001-2002 season is still holding onto that position with 35, averaging 2.33 a game. Currently Mitchell leads the 2002-2003 Brown team in scoring, rebounds, and blocked shots.
