Women's Basketball Wraps Up Non-Conference Play Tonight At Lehigh

The women's basketball team will look for its sixth straight victory tonight when it plays Lehigh at 7 p.m. in Bethlehem, PA. Tonight's match-up wraps up non-conference play for both teams. Brown, 7-6 on the season, has faced two other Patriot League opponents this season, picking up wins against American (61-52) and Navy (65-59). The Bears have won their last five games, including a 75-72 win at Yale on Saturday in their Ivy League opener.
Lehigh, 6-9 on the season, has gone 1-2 against Ivy League opponents this season. The Mountain Hawks pulled out a 56-53 win over Princeton early in the season but dropped matches to Columbia, 67-60, and Penn, 73-43.
This will be the ninth meeting between Lehigh and Brown, which holds a 5-3 advantage in the series. The two last met back during the 1997-98 season with the Bears taking a 69-64 win. The Mountain Hawks last win over Brown was in the 1989-90 season.
Senior Nyema Mitchell leads Brown with 14.5 points per game. She recorded the 1,000th point of her career against Yale on Saturday, leading the Bears with 22 points. She is averaging 20.3 points over the last four games. Senior Tanara Golston leads the Ivy League with 6.0 assists per game. She Brown's second leading scorer with an 11.2 average.
Lehigh is off to its best start ever in the Patriot League after picking up a 69-55 victory over American on Saturday, improving to 3-0 in conference play. Junior Jessica DePalo leads the Mountain Hawks with 16.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
