The Brown women's basketball team will look to snap its four game skid at American on Thursday. The Bears, currently in the midst of a six-game road swing, now stand at 6-5 on the season after starting off 6-1, its best start ever. On Monday, Brown fell to Sacred Heart 65-51. Senior center Holly Robertson leads the team and is second in the Ivy League with 15.8 points per game. Her 9.2 rebounds per contest lead the Ivies. Junior guard Sarah Hayes is averaging 16.6 points and 8.0 rebounds in the Bears last four games. She leads the Ancient Eight with 2.7 steals per game. Brown's second leading scorer, junior Colleen Kelly, is out with an injury indefintely.
American is 5-6 on the year and is on a four-game losing streak of its own. On New Year's Eve the Eagles fell 61-49 to Liberty after dropping both of its games at the University of Virginia Tournament. Senior guard Joanna Barnes leads the team with 13.7 ppg while senior forward Chanel Hunt follows with 13.2. Senior forward Jenyce Woodruff is averaging a team-high 7.4 rebounds per game for the Eagles.
