Women's Basketball Falls 75-65 to Texas A&M in Brown Classic Final

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's basketball team fell to a record of 3-4 on the season with a 75-65 loss to the Texas A&M Aggies (4-2) at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Sunday.
Senior Rada Pavichevich (Norwood Park, IL) tied a career-high with 23 points on nine of 16 shooting from the floor and a three of five effort from three-point range. Pavichevich also added six rebounds and three assists for the Bears.
LaToya Rose (Magnolia, AR) also had 23 points for Texas A&M on 10 of 16 shooting. Tocarra Williams (Hollywood, FL) added 19 points and six rebounds to give the Aggies their second Brown Classic title in the last five years. The Aggies also won the Brown Classic back in 1996.
Also scoring in double figures for the Bears was senior Erin-Kate Barton (Portland, OR) with 13 points, five rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Nyema Mitchell (Birmingham, AL) had another strong game inside with eight points, nine rebounds and five blocks.
In the consolation game, the Quinnipiac Braves defeated the Black Knights of Army 61-57.
Pavichevich, Mitchell and Williams were named to the All-Tournament team after the championship game. Rose was selected as the MVP of the tournament.
The Bears return to action on Monday, December 10 when they will host Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m.
