The Brown University Women's Basketball Team defeated the Princeton Tigers 68-50, making the Bear's 14-11 overall and 8-4 in the Ivy League as they head into their last weekend of action.
The Bear's led by nine at halftime and came out strong in the second half to maintain their lead. Brown was led by freshman Sarah Hayes (Beaufort, SC) who recorded 26 points and nine rebounds. Junior Tanara Golston (Skokie, IL) accumulated 15 ppoints as freshman Colleen Kelly (Rochester, NY) netted 14. Kelly also pulled down seven boards and grabbed three steals.
Junior Miranda Craigwell (Dorcester, MA) and freshman Jackie Vocell (Atkinson, NH) both recorded six points a piece. Craigwell pulled down six boards as Holly Robertson (Cochrane, Alberta) pulled down five. Robertson added four points as did junior Nyema Mitchell (Birmingham, AL). Mitchell pulled down seven boards for the Bear's and recorded two blocked shots.
The Bear's will host the Dartmouth Big Green and the Harvard Crimson this weekend March 7th-8th. Brown will honor Nationall Women's and Girls in Sports Day on the 8th as they try and break the attendance record at Brown. Both games will tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
