Philadelphia, PA -- The Brown women's basketball team dropped an 86-63 decision to the Penn Quakers in an Ivy League contest at the Palestra on Saturday night.
Sophomore forward Nyema Mitchell (Birmingham, AL) led the Bears in scoring for the second straight game with 18 points on eight of 15 shooting from the field. Mitchell also grabbed four rebounds and picked up three blocks.
Also scoring in double figures for Brown (5-16, 2-6 Ivy) was senior Rada Pavichevich (Norwood Park, IL) with 12 points and 4 assists and junior Heidi Egelhoff (Portland, OR) with 10 points.
Brown shot 34 percent from the field in the first half and fell behind 42-33 at the break. Mitchell paced the Bears in the first half with nine points and three boards.
Penn took control off the game in the second half by opening with a 16-2 run that caught the Bears by surprise.
The Bears return to action on Friday, February 15 when they will host the Columbia Lions at the Pizzitola Sports Center at 7 p.m.
