The Brown University Women's Basketball Team fell the Big Green of Dartmouth 74-68 in its second Ivy League loss of the season. The Bears are now 10-9 overall and 4-2 in the Ivy League.
The Bears went into the locker room down by only five points after ending the first half with a 12-6 run. The Big Green shot over 40% from the field in the first half as the Bears shot just under 28%.
Brown opened the second half on a 10-2 run to bring them within three points at the 14:29 mark, but that is as close as the Bears came to the Big Green.
The Bears were once again led by freshman Colleen Kelly (Rochester, NY) who recorded 21 points, 15 from behind the three point arc. Kelly also pulled down seven rebounds. Recording her fifth double double of the year was junior Nyema Mitchell (Birmingham, AL) who netted 12 points and 13 boards.
Also scoring in double digits for the Bears was junior Tanara Golston (Skokie, IL) with 13 and freshman Sarah Hayes (Beaufort, SC) with 12. Golston led the Bears in assists with five as Hayes pulled down eight boards.
Freshman Ashely Van Kurin (Yorba Linda, CA) led Brown in steals with six, Van Kurin also added five points, four boards and two steals.
The Bears will host Penn and Princeton in the Pizzitola Gymnasium this weekend, both starting at 7:00 p.m.
