PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's basketball team fell 67-64 to the Dartmouth Big Green in a closely contested Ivy League battle at the Pizzitola Sports Center on Saturday night.

Leading the way for the Bears was senior Erin-Kate Barton (Portland, OR) who scored a career-high 19 points on eight of ten shooting from the floor. Sophomore Miranda Craigwell (Dorchester, MA) also had a big night for Brown (4-15, 1-5 Ivy) as she posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Senior Rada Pavichevich (Norwood Park, IL) added nine points, six rebounds and handed out six assists. Sophomore Nyema Mitchell (Birmingham, AL) had nine points and seven rebounds for the Bears.

Trailing by as many as fifteen points in the second half, the Bears reeled of a thrilling 8-0 run over the last two minutes of the game to pull within one point of the Big Green at 65-64 with 36 seconds remaining. Dartmouth (6-12, 2-3 Ivy) converted a lay-up on the ensuing possession and the Bears' attempt at a tying three-point field goal at the end of regulation went awry.

The Bears were down by three at 65-62 with under a minute left when Barton slashed her way to the hoop for a huge lay-up while getting fouled in the process. Barton's free throw attempt bounced out of the basket and Dartmouth would hold on for the win.

Brown will return to Ivy League action at Princeton on Friday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m.
