Women’s Basketball Promotes Kirpas to Assistant Coach Position

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University women's basketball has promoted Jeffrey Kirpas – the team's operations coordinator during the 2016-17 season – to an assistant coach position, Brown head coach Sarah Behn announced on Friday.

In 2016-17, Kirpas helped the Bears qualify for the inaugural Ivy League Tournament and secure a spot in the Women's Basketball Invitational, gaining the program's first-ever win in a national postseason tournament.

This past winter Brown set single-season program records for games played (30), points (2,169), field goals made (779), 3-pointers made (226), and free throw percentage (.739) while winning the inaugural Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament.

Prior to joining the Bears, Kirpas served as the video coordinator for the University of Rhode Island women's basketball program. A 2014 graduate of Holy Cross, he served as the Student Director of Operations for the Crusaders' women's basketball team as a senior.
