After falling to Maryland in the opening game of the Terrapin Classic, the Bears came back for a 57-46 victory over UMES in the consolation game. Senior captain Sheila Dixon earned All-Tournament team honors after netting 20 points and grabbing six boards in the Bears' victory.
Junior point guard Lauren Clarke leads Brown in scoring with 14 points per game to rank fourth overall in the Ivy League, and her 2.5 treys per game ranks first in the Ancient Eight. Dixon, who missed three games due to an injury, is averaging 13.1 points and is pulling down a team-high 5.6 rebounds per game.
The Bears rank first in the Ivy League in three-point field goal percent defense, holding opponents to just .247 shooting from beyond the arc, and are second in scoring defense (57.5) and field goal percent defense (.362).
After a 17-day hiatus, Army defeated Bryant 67-51 last Sunday afternoon at Christl Arena to improve its record to 10-3. Freshman point guard Kelsey Minato led Army with a career-high 24 points, including her second five three-pointer game of the year.
Anna Simmers, one of three double-digit scorers, leads the Black Knights in scoring with 14.2 points and is bringing down 5.6 boards per game. Olivia Schretzman is netting 10.9 points including 8.2 rebounds per game, and Kelsey Minato is adding 10.8 points and 4.7 boards per game. Leading rebounder, Aimee Oertner is pulling down 8.6 rebounds, which ranks fifth overall in the Patriot League.
