Providence, RI- Brown women's basketball guard Sheila Dixon '13 (Schenectady, NY) earned her second consecutive Second Team All-Ivy honor, while co-captain Hannah Passafuime '12 (Soquel, CA) earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy after a vote by the Ivy League women's basketball coaches.
Dixon led Brown in scoring and rebounding this season with 13.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game and scored in double figures in 19 of 28 games. Starting in all 28 games, Dixon posted three double-doubles in games against Fairfield (18 pts, 11 reb), Holy Cross (19 pts, 10 reb) and Penn (12 pts, 10 reb) and combined for a career-high 26 points in a victory against Providence College. She earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors on Dec. 5th.
Passafuime is earning a spot on the Ivy League's Honorable Mention team for the second time in her career, as she earned the honor as a sophomore during the 2009-10 season. She finished this season as Brown's second-leading scorer averaging 12.2 points-per-game and third-leading rebounder with 4.7 per game and earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors on January 2nd . She started in all 28 games and averaged 34.5 minutes on the floor and ended the season shooting 80 percent from the free throw line. She scored in double-figures in 22 of 28 games, and recorded one double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds vs. San Jose State. She was a CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District selection, and was a two-year team captain.
Passafuime ended her career at Brown with 970 points, and ranks fifth in three-point field goals made in a season (36), fourth in three-point field goals made in a career (111) and attempts made in a season (119) and career (391). Also, Passafuime's 95 free throws made this season ranks her seventh all-time, and she ranks sixth all-time in free throws made in a career (233).
