Providence, RI- In the first full weekend of Ivy play, Brown (10-6, 1-1 Ivy) will take on the Dartmouth College Big Green (2-13, 0-1) at 7 p.m. on Friday and then travel to Harvard (8-7, 1-0) for a 2 p.m. tip-off vs. Harvard on Sunday. The Bears swept Dartmouth last season after a 56-55 win at Leede Arena, and earned a series split with Harvard, defeating the Crimson at the Pizzitola Center, 57-56.
Friday's meeting is the 70th meeting between the Bears and Big Green as Dartmouth leads 48-21 in the all-time series. Harvard and Brown will meet for the 75th time dating back to the 1973-74 season. The Crimson have a 40-34 record in the all-time series, and lead 20-13 when playing at Lavietes Pavilion.
Brown sophomore Lauren Clarke (Colts Neck, NJ) earned Ivy League Player of the Week honors after helping the Bears to a 1-1 week, including a victory over the Yale Bulldogs to give the Bears their first Ivy win of the season. Against Yale, Clarke led the team in scoring with 15 points, while recording five rebounds, three assists, and one steal to defeat the Bulldogs 60-55. Earlier that week the Bears suffered an 81-74 loss to Holy Cross, but Clarke tallied 14 points, five assists, two rebounds and two steals in the defeat. She went 5-of-8 from the floor and a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.
Junior Sheila Dixon (Schenectady, NY) leads Brown in scoring and rebounding with 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, while senior co-captain Hannah Passafuime (Soquel, CA) follows with 12.4 points and 5.4 rebounds.
