Providence, RI- Senior forward Aileen Daniels (Waldwick, NJ) helped the Brown University women's basketball team to a 2-1 week, including a Dead River Company Classic Championship, to earn Ivy League Co-Player of the Week honors, her first career weekly award.
Daniels, the Dead River Company Classic's Most Valuable Player, netted 29 total points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the Bears' two games against Evansville and Maine. Against the Purple Aces, Daniels lit up for a team-high 17 points going 7-of-9 from the floor and grabbed six rebounds during a 55-47 victory in the opening game of the tournament.
Then, Daniels put in 12 points, had seven rebounds and two blocks during Brown's 61-59 overtime victory over host Maine to capture the championship, its first in the Bears six times competing in the tournament.
The Bears will host Fairfield at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30. Because of the men playing at 7:30 p.m. against Rhode Island, ticket prices for the women's game will start at $12 for adults. For more ticket information go to the Brown Ticket Office Page!
