Men's Cross Country Earns First Place at Bryant Invitational

Smithfield, RI - Led by sophomore Sam Sheehan's (Woodland, ME) first-place time of 16:35.08, the Brown men's cross country squad earned first-place at the Bryant Invitational. The Bears combined for 27 points, placing in front of the University of Rhode Island (53), Bryant (58), American International (104), and Southern New Hampshire (125).

The rain and mud didn't seem to affect the swift Bruno squad, as junior Scott Cary (Mt. Vernon, VA) picked up second place with a 16:46.27, and junior Alex Stern (Potomac, MD) secured fourth with a 17:02.17) in the 5k race.

Freshman Eric Marceau (Farmington, ME) turned in a sixth-place finish with a 17:05.04, and sophomore Chris Collins (Wilton, CT) earned 14th place with a 17:35.33.

The Bears will now compete at the New England Championships at Franklin Park on Oct. 11, in Boston, MA.
