NEW YORK – Freshman Eli Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) paced the Brown men's cross country team with a 39th-place finish as the Bears took eighth at the 2015 Ivy League Heptagonal Championship Friday morning at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City.

"We were dealt some challenges this season but we clearly didn't do a good job of rising above these difficulties," said Tim Springfield, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country. "We did fight hard today but I didn't have them prepared well enough and we hurt ourselves with poor execution."

Moskowitz completed the 8-kilometer course in a time of 25:42.3, before junior Stephen Bourguet (Manhasset, N.Y.) placed senior Will Sheeran (Bellevue, Wash.) placed 43rd and 44th, respectively, in times of 25:48.9 and 25:51.5.

Sophomore Ryan Anderson (Santa Rosa, Calif.) was 51st at 26:23.2 and junior Tucker Hamilton (Colorado Springs, Colo.) took 53rd in a time of 27:01.5 to round out the Brown scorers.

Junior Luke Muzikowski (Chicago, Ill.) and sophomore Andrew Coggins (LaGrange, Ga.) completed the course in times of 27:22.2 and 28:02.1, respectively.
