Springfield Named Director of Track & Field/Cross Country at Brown
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After a successful 2012-13 season as the Interim Director of Track & Field/Cross Country at Brown University, Tim Springfield has been appointed as the director of the program, announced by Director of Athletics Jack Hayes on Thursday.

Men's & Women's Cross Country to Compete at NCAA Northeast Regional
Madison, C.T.- The Brown University men's and women's cross country teams will visit Hammonasset Beach State Park this Friday, November 9th, to compete in the NCAA Northeast Regional meet hosted by Fairfield University. The women's six–kilometer race is slated to start at noon, while the men's 10k race follows at 1:15 pm. The condition of the course was declared acceptable following Hurricane Sandy by both Yale and Fairfield coaches, but conditions may turn out to be waterlogged or sluggish following the snow from this week.

Men's Cross Country Competes at NCAA Northeast Regional
Madison, C.T. – Brown University's cross country program faced a large field of nearly 40 teams from the region today at the NCAA Division 1 Northeast Championships. Seven individuals from each the men's and the women's teams competed at Hammonassett State Park earlier today.

Men's Cross Country Travels to Princeton for Ivy League Heptagonal Championship
Princeton, N.J. - The Brown University men’s cross country team travels to Princeton’s West Windsor Fields for the 2012 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships this Saturday at noon. Each of the Ancient Eight will race twelve individuals as they compete for the conference title and for points to help qualify out of the regional meets to the NCAA Championships later in the season.

Conor Grogan Leads Brown Men’s XC at Ivy League Heptagonal Championship
Princeton, N.J. – Senior Conor Grogan (Hudson, MA) led the Brown men's cross country team with a 31st place finish with a 24:38.5 on the 8-kilomter course at Princeton's Windsor Fields during the 2012 Ivy League Cross Country Championships. The Bears finished in eighth place, as Princeton captured the team title with 26 points. For complete results, click here.

Men's Cross Country Earns Rothenberg Invitational
Warwick, RI- Brown hosted five teams on Friday afternoon at the Rothenberg Cross Country Invitational at Goddard State Park. Dartmouth, UMass Amherst, Boston College, and Rhode Island University each brought men for the eight-kilometer competition across the flat and slightly rain-slicked course. Brown won the team competition with 33 points followed by UMass Amherst.

Cross Country Competes at Wisconsin Adidas Invitational
Madison, WI-The Brown Men’s Cross Country Team traveled to the University of Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Friday to compete in one of this season’s largest events. The meet attracted running programs from all around the country and offered a high caliber racing opportunity to the men. Overall, Stanford won the team title and Columbia was the top Ivy League team in 5th place.

Men's Cross Country Competes at Paul Short Invitational
Bethlehem, PA-The Brown University's men's cross country team traveled to Lehigh University for the Paul Short Invitational on Friday. They raced in a competitive field and placed 14th overall, finishing behind 13th place Harvard University and just in front of Boston College (15th).

Men's Cross Country Team Takes Title at Iona Meet of Champions
Bronx, New York - The men's cross country team had their first opportunity to race their full squad at the Iona Meet of Champions at a challenging course in Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday afternoon. The Bears captured the team title with 44 points ahead of Boston College (69) and Iona (84). Penn University took 6th place with 138 points and Columbia University came in 7th with 166 points.

Men's XC Competes at Nassaney Invitational
Smithfield, RI- A small squad of runners competed Saturday for the Brown men's cross country team at Bryant University. In the first meet of the season, Brown's team score was incomplete with less than five individual finishes and Boston University grabbed the team title on the 8-kilometer course.

Men's Cross Country Opens 2012 Season at Bryant Invitational
Providence, RI- The men's cross country team is set to open their season this weekend locally at Bryant Invitational. Since a fourth place showing last fall at the 2011 Ivy League Championships, the Bears have graduated a strong class that included All-American Dan Lowry (Plymouth Metting, PA), 2010-11 captain Matt Duffy (Oakland, CA), and contributors Nathan Chellman (Reno, NV), Anthony Schurz (South Bend, IN), and Ethan Hickey (Liverpool, NY).
