Duffy Leads Brown to Fourth Place Finish at Iona Meet of Champions
Bronx, NY- Brown's top finisher Matt Duffy helped lead the Brown men's cross country team to a fourth place finish at the Iona Meet Of Champions on Saturday afternoon with a time of 25:11 on the 8k course at Van Cortlandt Park.
"This was a great season opener for many of our men," said cross country coach Jill Miller. "They did many right things today, but also showed some areas that we can work on over the next few weeks. Matt Duffy did a phenomenal job leading the team and showing how to be confident and strong on a tough course."
Also running strong races today were Austin Snyder (26:06), Brian Schilder (26:07), Andrew Perrilli (26:09) and Nathan Chellman (26:15). Also competing was Anthony Schurz (26:18) and Dan Lowry (26:31).
The Bears are back in action in two weeks when it travels to Bethlehem, Penn., for the Paul Short Invitational.
