Fall Academic All-Ivy Honorees Announced

Providence, RI- The Ivy League released its fall list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with ten Brown student-athletes being recognized.  The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average. 

 

WOMEN:

Senior Bridget Ballard - Soccer

  • Team Co-Captain; CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-District; Second Team All-Ivy

Concentration: Neuroscience

 

Junior Katherine Hyland - Field Hockey

 

  • Second Team All-Ivy; Brown's second-leading scorer with 16 points

Concentration: History

Senior Melissa Kim - Soccer

  • Team Co-Captain; CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Third Team Academic All-District; Second Team All-Ivy

Concentration: Architectural Studies

 

Junior Brianna Williamson - Volleyball

 

  • Started in all 23 matches; Led Brown in kills (226) and kills per set (2.6)

Concentration: Development Studies

 

Senior Ariel Wright - Cross Country

 

  • First Team All-Ivy; Finished in seventh place at the Ivy League Cross Country Championships

Concentration: Biomedical Engineering

 

MEN:

 

Senior Mark Callahan - Football

 

  • First Team All-Ivy; Center for Ivy League's top offense

Concentration: Commerce, Organizations & Entrepreneurship

 

Junior Paul Grandstrand - Men's Soccer

 

  • First Team All-Ivy goalkeeper; Earned an 11-3-5 record and helped Brown to second-round NCAA Tournament appearance.

Concentration: Engineering

 

Senior Kent Holland - Water Polo

 

  • First Team CWPA All-North; CWPA Northern Division Champions

Concentration: Commerce, Organizations & Entrepreneurship

 

Senior John Loeser - Cross Country

 

  • Second Team All-Ivy; Earned 10th place at the Ivy Cross Country Championships

Concentration: Mathematics

 

Senior Chris Perkins - Football

 

  • First Team All-Ivy as a defensive back; Led Brown in tackles

Concentration: Engineering
