Brown names Robison and Burch as assistant wrestling coaches

Brown University has named Jason Robison and Mike Burch as assistant wrestling coaches for the 2001-2002 season.

Robison comes to the Brown program having served as an assistant wrestling coach at the University of Pittsburgh from 1999-2001. He also served as a volunteer assistant coach at Edinboro University during the 1998-1999 season. Robison was a three-time All American wrestler at Edinboro where he set school records for most career wins with 145 and most career pins at 42. He was the 1996 Espoir National Champion and the 1998 NCAA Division I National Runner-Up.

Burch returns to Brown after serving as an assistant coach with the Bears from 1992-1995. For the past six years, Burch has been the head coach at the University of California, Davis. In the 2000-2001 season at UC-Davis, Burch compiled the first winning season in over 25 years and was named the men's coach of the year. As a wrestler at Cal State Bakersfield, he was named a Freshman All-American and was a four-year varsity starter on a team that won four consecutive Division II national titles. Burch has also held assistant coaching positions at Diablo Valley Community College and the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
