Amato Completes Coaching Staff, Hires Ed Gutnik as Asst. Coach

Providence, RI - Former Wisconsin wrestler Ed Gutnik has joined the Brown wrestling staff as an assistant coach, Head Coach Dave Amato announced today.

"We're thrilled and feel very fortunate to have added someone of Ed's background to the program," Amato said. "His knowledge of the sport will be invaluable to our student-athletes."

Gutnik wrestled at the 133 and 141 pound classes at Wisconsin, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament three times. He also placed at the Big Ten Championship three times, with a career high of third place. For the past year, he worked as a volunteer assistant at Wisconsin.

Gutnik graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006 with a BA in Russian Language and Culture.
