Dave Amato Announces Brown Wrestling Class of 2011

Providence, RI - Brown University Head Wrestling Coach Dave Amato has announced that the Bears' incoming freshmen class will be seven strong. Richard Bailey (Palmyra, NJ), Hudson Collins (Dallas, TX), Steven Depew (Easton, PA), Dave Foxen (Garden City, NY), Kasey McCurdy (Lancaster, OH), Max McFadden (Providence, RI), and Brandon Shull (Grand Junction, MI) will join the team this winter.

McFadden, who will return to his hometown of Providence, is a former two-time New England place winner and a graduate of Providence Country Day School. He spent this past year at Blair Academy in New Jersey as a post grad. McFadden will wrestle at 133 pounds.

Bailey and Foxen will both compete at 141 pounds. Bailey, a graduate of Palmyra High School, is a two-time New Jersey state qualifier and region champion. Foxen is a three-time Section 8 place winner for Garden City High on Long Island, N.Y.

Collins, who also spent a post grad season at Blair Academy, will compete at 149 pounds. At Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, he won one Texas State Championship.

Depew and McCurdy, both two-time state qualifiers, will compete at 165 pounds. Depew was a two-time Pennsylvania state qualifier at Wilson Area High School, while McCurdy competed for Fairfield Union High School.

Shull, a Michigan place winner, will compete at 174 pounds. He is a graduate of Bangor High, the same school that produced two-time Second Team All-Ivy and current Brown senior Levon Mock (Bangor, MI).
