Three Grapplers Earn All-Ivy Honors

Princeton, NJ - In a vote by the Ivy League's six head coaches, three Brown wrestlers earned All-Ivy honors, headlined by junior Shawn Kitchner, who received First Team honors at 165 lbs. Sophomores Jeff Schell and Levon Mock earned Second Team honors at 125 lbs. and 285 lbs., respectively.

Kitchner went a perfect 5-0 in Ivy League competition, including a win over 13th ranked Steve Anceravage of Cornell. Overall, Kitchner led Brown with an 18-8 record during the regular season and placed sixth at the EIWA Championship. In the second semester of the season, Kitchner went 15-2.

Schell went 4-1 in Ivy matches this season, including a 3-2 win over Penn's Matt Silemgo. His lone loss came against Ivy Wrestler and Rookie of the Year Troy Nickerson of Cornell, who went 32-1 on the year. Schell closed out the regular season 16-8 on the season, going 7-1 in the month of February.

Mock also went 4-1 in Ivy League competition with his only loss coming against First Team All-Ivy pick Bode Ogunwole of Harvard. Included in his Ivy victories was a pin against Princeton along with a 10-0 win over Columbia. Mock went 16-13 overall on the season.

Senior Mike Savino, Brown's lone qualifier for the NCAA Tournament, will begin competition on March 16 in Oklahoma City, OK
