Grapplers Ciarcia and Frease Place First in Binghamton Invitational

The Brown University Wrestling team kicked off the 2002-2003 season at the Binghamton Invitational Saturday November 16th. Senior Clint Frease (Clearwater, FL) and junior Nick Ciarcia (Berlin, CT) placed first in their respective weights.

Frease defeated Millersville's Derek Sola in the 141 division 3-1 as Ciarcia beat out Brad Christie of Hofstra 2-1 in 184. Freshman Lucas Magnani (Islip, NY) placed third in 125 as he defeated Drexel's Rob Rebmann 5-3.

Also placing for the Bears was sophomore Michael Savino (Lawrenceville, NJ) who came in fourth in 157. Freshmen Dan Apello (Roselle Park, NJ) placed fifth in 125 and Mike Pedro (Lynn, MA) forfeited fifth place due to injury and placed sixth in 174.

The grapplers next action will be Sunday November 24, 2002 as the Bears will compete in the Keystone Invitational.
