Brown Falls to Harvard 29-12

The Brown University Wrestling team finished up the 2002-2003 regular season at Harvard with a 29-12 loss to the Crimson. The Bear's are now 8-12 overall and finished the Ivy season at 1-4 and the EIWA at 1-6.

Senior Clint Frease (Clearwater, FL) and junior Nick Ciarcia (Berlin, CT) led the team once again recording wins for Brown. Ciarcia won by decision at 184, 3-1 in overtime as Frease won by default. Only one other Bear recorded a win at Harvard in senior Chris Ayers (Newton, NJ) who also won in overtime by decision 6-4 at 165.

Also wrestling for Brown, but coming away with losses were freshmen Dan Appello (Roselle Park, NJ) at 125, Doran Heist (Meadville, PA) who was pinned at 4:30 in 174, and freshman heavyweight Lee Beane (Bridgewater, MA). Sophomores Anthony Marconi (Patterson, NY), Shawn Cully (Cransberry TWP., PA), and Michael Savino (Lawrenceville, NJ) competed for the Bear's, but came away wit losses as did junior Adam Santee (Perry, OH).

The EIWA Championships will be held the weekend of March 7-9.
