Providence, RI - In its Ivy League opener, the Brown wrestling team fell to 22nd ranked Penn, 26-10, on Friday afternoon at the Pizzitola Center. Junior Shawn Kitchner and sophomores Jeff Schell and Levon Mock recorded the Bears three victories. Brown falls to 4-7 on the year and 1-4 in the EIWA.
Kitchner scored a 15-2 major decision at 165 lbs. over Lior Zamir, who came into the match with a 17-7 record. Wit the win, Kitchner improves to 12-8 on the year.
At heavyweight, Mock posted a 6-2 win over Jayson Bowlsby while Schell edged out 2nd ranked Mike Silengo at 125 lbs., 3-2.
Sophomore Mark Savino battled 2nd ranked Cesar Grajales into overtime but Grajales got the win with a two-point takedown.
Brown will wrestle Delaware State tomorrow at 11 a.m. before facing Ivy foe Princeton at 2 p.m.
