SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Senior Henry Fox scored five goals, and sophomore Jake Wyatt netted the game-winner with two seconds left as No. 14 Brown University men's water polo beat No. 12 UC Davis, 12-11, in day two at "The Rodeo" on Saturday at the Sullivan Aquatic Center.
The Bears (16-5) topped the Aggies (11-13) in their afternoon game after falling to tournament-host No. 15 Santa Clara (10-8), 12-7, in their morning opener.
Brown came from behind in its win, out-scoring the University of California, Davis, 7-3, in the fourth quarter with Fox (Mercer Island, Wash.) posting three goals and Wyatt (Corona Del Mar, Calif.) adding two.
Next, Brown concludes play at "The Rodeo" tomorrow with games against Fresno Pacific (12:20 p.m. ET) and Air Force (4:20 p.m. ET).
Game 2 – Brown 12, UC Davis 11
Brown overcame an 8-4 deficit late in the third quarter to rally past UC Davis, 12-11, and improve to 2-1 through two days at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational.
Fox led the Bears with five goals while senior Nick Deaver (Orinda, Calif.) contributed three goals, Wyatt scored twice, and junior Matty Gallas (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and sophomore Luke Irwin (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) chipped in one goal each.
The two sides stood tied at 2-2 through one quarter, and Brown remained within 5-3 after two periods before the Aggies gained an 8-4 advantage with 1:21 remaining in the third frame.
Brown began its surge as Deaver netted a goal with seven seconds left in the third stanza. In the first four minutes of the final quarter, Fox registered three of Brown's four goals to help the Bears tie the game at 9-9.
Deaver put the team up 11-10 with 1:39 to go before UC Davis tied it at 11-11 with 46 seconds remaining. Wyatt helped the Bears avoid overtime with his buzzer-beating tally.

Game 1 – Santa Clara 12, Brown 7
The Broncos captured a 3-0 advantage after the first quarter. Brown responded with a 3-2 spurt to pull within 5-3, but Santa Clara scored once more in the second period to take a 6-3 lead through two frames.
The hosts pushed their lead to 11-5 through three stanzas though Brown out-scored Santa Clara 2-1 in the fourth quarter.
Gallas chipped in a goal for the visitors.
