Providence, RI- Three Brown University men's water polo players received CWPA honors at the conclusion of their 29-4 season. Senior Svetozar Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) was named the CWPA Northern Division Player of the Year for the fourth consecutive season, while also earning First Team All-North & All-East honors. James McNamara (Los Angeles, CA) and Henry Fox (Mercer Island, WA) also garnered First Team All-North honors.
Stefanovic ended the regular season with a team-high 117 goals and 94 ejections drawn. He also added 22 assists, 62 steals and eight field blocks. A three-time ACWPC Honorable Mention All-American, Stefanovic broke his own single-season goal mark set in the 2011 season after he broke Kent Rapp's career record of 249 goals in a career. He ended his career with 366 goals. Also, Stefanovic earned CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week honors three times this season.
McNamara, a 2011 ACWPC All-American, is earning First Team All-North honors for the second time in his career, after earning Second Team honors in 2010. McNamara led Brown in assists (93) and steals (83) and scored 51 goals. He earned CWPA Northern Division Player & Defensive Player of the Week honor on Oct. 17. The honor was his ninth and 10th weekly honor from the league throughout his career.
The 2011 CWPA Northern Division Rookie of the Year, Fox was second in scoring this season with 93 goals. In addition, Fox handed out 28 assists, recorded 72 steals, and drew 18 ejections. Fox earned Northern Division Player of the Week honors two times this season.
