No. 12 Brown Men’s Water Polo Defeats Cal Baptist, 17-9

Santa Clara, Calif. – The No. 12 Brown men's water polo team defeated Cal Baptist. 17-9, on Friday evening at "The Rodeo" hosted at Santa Clara. Henry Fox led the Bears in scoring with five goals, while also adding two assists and two steals, and leading the defense was Walker Shockley with 13 saves.

The Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead with 1:41 remaining in the first quarter, but Cal Baptist got on the scoreboard at the 1:05 mark to cut its deficit to two. Svetozar Stefanovic knocked in a goal with 49 seconds remaining to put the Bears ahead 4-1 at the end of the first quarter.

Cal Baptist tallied the first goal in the second quarter, but goals scored by James McNamara and Ryan Gladych gave Bruno a 7-2 lead at the intermission.

The Bears continued to roll outscoring Cal Baptist, 4-3, in the third quarter as Stefanovic, Fox and Dead Serure each adding to the scoring to give Brown an 11-5 advantage over Cal Baptist heading into the final quarter.

Brown scored the first three goals of the fourth to extend its lead to 14-5, and went on to defeat Cal Baptist 17-9.

Stefanovic notched four goals for the Bears today, followed by McNamara with three. Also scoring was Ryan Gladych, Nick Deaver and Serure.
