Boston, MA - The No. 17 Brown men's water polo team continued to roll at the Northern Division Championships hosted at MIT with an 18-9 victory over Harvard yesterday evening to place the Bears in the championships game against St. Francis at noon today. Junior Svetozar Stefeanovic led the offensive with five goals, four steals and five ejections drawn, while sophomore Walker Shockley played all 32 minutes in the cage and picked up 10 saves.
The Bears outscored Harvard 6-4 in the first quarter and went on to increase its lead 11-7 at the half. Brown scored just one goal in the third but was able to shut down the Crimson, and then poured in six goals to Harvard's two to earn the 18-9 victory to place the squad in the championship game.
James McNamara added five goals , three assists and four steals, and Grant Villeneuve combined for three goals. Also adding to the offense was rookie Henry Fox with two goals and Dean Serure with one. Senior Toby Espinosa had five assists and two steals for the Bears and Michael Hartwick. Chris Culin and Fox had three each.
