Men’s Water Polo Players & Team Earn ACWPC All-Academic Honors
Providence, RI- The Brown University men's water polo team averaged a 3.400 GPA to rank the third highest in the country, and had 13 student-athletes earn ACWPC All-Academic Awards. Massachusetts Institute of Technology earned the top spot with a 3.500, while St. Francis earned the second-best GPA with a 3.440.

McNamara, Stefanovic Shatter Records; Earn ACWPC All-American Honors
Providence, RI- Brown University men's water polo sophomore James McNamara (Los Angeles, CA) and junior Svetozar Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) received Honorable Mention All-American honors by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) while also breaking multiple Brown records for single season and career goals, assists and points.

2011 Fall Academic All-Ivy Announced
The Ivy League released its fall list of Academic All-ivy honorees, with 10 Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

No. 16. St. Francis Defeats No. 18 Brown in CWPA Eastern Championship Third Place Game
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Filip Sasic (Sr., Zagreb, Croatia/Titus Brezouazki) scored four times to earn Player of the Game honros, and five other Terriers added pairs of goals, as No. 16 St. Francis College beat No. 18 Brown University 16-10 in the third place game of the 2011 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship at Harvard University's Blodgett Pool.

Bears Fall to Navy, 12-10
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- 2009 Eastern Championship Most Valuable Player Kyle Wertz (Sr.. San Diego, Calif./Westlake) scored five goals, handed out two assists, grabbed four steals and blocked a shot as the No. 15-ranked Midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy used a fourth period comeback to edge No. 18 Brown University to earn a return trip to the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship title game.

Stefanovic Earns Third Straight CWPA Player Of the Year Award; Three Other Bears Receive CWPA Accolades
Providence, RI- Junior Svetozar Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) made history this evening as he became the first men’s player in CWPA history to garner three consecutive CWPA Northern Division Most Valuable Player of the Year Awards. A three-time First Team All-League honoree with this year’s selection, Stefanovic is joined on the First Team by his teammate and 2010 Second Team selection James McNamara (Los Angeles, CA).

Leave it to Deaver: Nick Deaver Scores Game-Winner in Final Minutes as No. 18 Brown University Escapes Bucknell University, 11-10
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Brown University frosh Nick Deaver (Fr., Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) made his third goal of the game count the most by burying a man-up shot with 1:14 left in the fourth period to power No. 18 Brown University slipped past Bucknell University 11-10 in the opening round the 2011 CWPA Eastern Championship at Harvard University's Blodgett Pool.

Stefanovic & Deaver Earn CWPA Northern Division Honors
Providence, RI- Junior Svetozar Stefanovic and freshman Nick Deaver received CWPA Northern Division honors after helping the No. 17 ranked Brown men’s water polo team to the Northern Division title game last weekend hosted at MIT. Stefanovic was named the CWPA Player of the Week while Deaver earned Rookie of the Week honors for their outstanding performances at the Championships.

St. Francis Defeats Brown 10-9 in Five Overtimes in Northern Division Championship Game
Boston, MA- In the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Northern Division Championship game hosted at MIT, the Brown University men’s water polo team fell, 10-9, to St. Francis in five overtime periods. Sophomore James McNamara led the attack with four goals while Walker Shockley carried the defense as he tallied 18 saves in the cage.

Bears Down Harvard 18-9 to Face St. Francis in Northern Division Championships
Boston, MA - The No. 17 Brown men’s water polo team continued to roll at the Northern Division Championships hosted at MIT with an 18-9 victory over Harvard yesterday evening to place the Bears in the championships game against St. Francis at noon today. Junior Svetozar Stefeanovic led the offensive with five goals, four steals and five ejections drawn, while sophomore Walker Shockley played all 32 minutes in the cage and picked up 10 saves.

Boston, MA- The Brown University men's water polo team earned a 17-3 victory over Connecticut College in the first game of the Northern Division Championships hosted at MIT this afternoon. The Bears will now face the winner of the MIT v. Harvard game and will play at 6 p.m. tonight.

Water Polo Defeats MIT 18-8 on Senior Night
Norton, MA – The No. 20 Brown University men’s water polo team earned an 18-8 senior night victory against MIT this evening in a match hosted at Balfour Natatorium at Wheaton College. Henry Fox, James McNamara and Svetozar Stefanovic led the scoring with four goals each, while Walker Shockley and Andrew Brown helped lead the defensive effort with five saves apiece. The victory improved Brown to 17-8 overall, while the Engineers dropped to 8-14.

Brown Water Polo Sweeps CWPA Northern Division Honors for Second Straight Week
Providence, RI- For the second consecutive week, the No. 20 Brown men’s water polo team has swept the Collegiate Water Polo Association’s Northern Division weekly award’s after defeating Harvard and Princeton to earn an Ivy Championship. Freshman Henry Fox (Mercer Island, WA) was named the CWPA’s Rookie of the Week, sophomore James McNamara received Defensive Player of the Week honors, and junior Svetozar Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) earned Player of the Week accolades.

Cambridge, MA- The Brown University men’s water polo team defeated Harvard 15-5 and went on to dominate Princeton 16-5 to be named Ivy Champions at the Ivy Championships hosted at Harvard this weekend.

Providence, RI- Due to water temperature issues at Wheaton College, both the Brown University and MIT men's water polo teams have agreed to postpone the game until Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m.

Bears Sweep CWPA Northern Division Weekly Awards; Fan Bus for Tomorrow’s Game vs. MIT
Providence, RI- Sophomore James McNamara (Los Angeles, CA), sophomore Walker Shockley (Diamond Bar, CA) and freshman Nick Deaver (Orinda, CA) helped the Bears to a 2-3 weekend at the Rodeo Invitational defeating #15 Santa Clara and #18 Air Force after picking up two Northern Division victories against Iona and Connecticut College on Wednesday night to sweep CWPA Northern Division honors.

Santa Clara, CA- The Brown men's water polo team dropped its final two games of the Rodeo Invitational on Sunday afternoon. Brown fell 18-5 to No. 3 Stanford and followed it up with an 11-2 loss to #12 UC Davis.

Santa Clara, CA- The Brown men’s water polo team (14-6) fell 9-4 to No. 18 Cal Baptist on Saturday afternoon, but came back with a 12-10 victory over No. 18 Air Force during the Rodeo Invitational hosted at Santa Clara.

Bears Defeat #15 Santa Clara at Rodeo Invitational
Santa Clara, CA- The Brown University men’s water polo team (13-5) defeated No. 15 ranked Santa Clara (11-12) 10-4 in its opening game of the Rodeo Invitational hosted at Santa Clara on Friday evening. James McNamara led the offense with four goals, two assists and three steals, while sophomore goalkeeper Walker Shockley tallied 13 saves in the cage to lead the defensive effort.

New London, CT- Freshman Nick Deaver (Orinda, CA) helped lead the Brown men's water polo to victories over Connecticut College and Iona on Wednesday evening with seven goals, three steals and an assist to improve the Bears to 12-5 overall on the year.

Providence, RI- Brown University's Sveotzar Stefanovic combined for 13 goals, two assists, seven steals and nine ejections drawn in a 2-0 weekend to earn CWPA Northern Division Co-Player of the Week honors.

Boston, MA- Led by junior Svetozar Stefanovic's six goals, six steals and two assists, the Brown men's water polo team earned an 11-4 victory over Harvard on Saturday afternoon in a special breast cancer awareness match where both teams wore special suits for the occasion.

Providence, RI- Brown University junior Svetozar Stefanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) netted 20 goals, six assists, eight steals and eight ejections drawn at the North-vs.-South Tournament on the grounds of the United States Naval Academy to claim CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week honors, while sophomore James McNamara (Los Angeles, CA) recorded 10 steals, four ejections drawn, nine goals and 11 assists to earn the Defensive Player of the Week award.

Annapolis, MD- The Brown University men's water polo team closed out the North/South Challenge hosted at Navy this weekend with a 19-11 victory over Mercyhurst and an 11-8 win over George Washington to close out the weekend 4-0 improving to 5-4 on the year. Sophomore Svetozar Stefanovic led the offense with 13 goals and 5 assists, while Walker Shockley helped lead the defensive effort with 10 saves.

Annapolis, MD- The Brown men’s water polo team won its first two games at Navy’s North/South Challenge this afternoon with a 10-6 victory over Johns Hopkins and an 8-7 win over No. 16 Bucknell.

Water Polo Drops Three to Ranked Teams; Rebounds with Win Over George Washington
Princeton, NJ- The Brown men's water polo team went 1-3 this weekend during the Princeton Invitational defeating George Washington 8-6, but falling to No. 19 St. Francis 11-7 in double overtime, No. 14 Santa Clara 6-5, and 11-6 to No. 17 Princeton.

Providence, RI- Head Men's & Women's Water Polo Coach Felix Mercado has announced the addition of eight newcomers (three men and five women) to the 2011-12 men's and women's water polo teams next year. Joining the men's squad will be Henry Fox (Mercer Island, WA), Nick Deaver (Orinda, CA) and Andrew Brown (LaGrange, IL), while Evan Cranston (Palo Alto, CA), Liz Rosen (San Anselmo, CA), Becca Zak (Carlsbad, CA), Madison Pepper (Bayton, TX), and Chloe Kempf (Laguna Hills, CA) will be additions to the women's roster.
