Select Bears Compete at NCAA Regional Meet; Rosiak Qualifies for NCAA Championships

Gainesville, FL - The Bears competed this past weekend at the NCAA East Regional competition. Select athletes participated in the elite two-day event in Gainesville, Florida after meeting qualifying standards earlier in the outdoor season. Senior Paul Rosiak (Wood-Ridge, NJ) had a standout performance, placing eighth in the javelin with a 220-06 throw, which earned him a spot in the NCAA Championships.

Junior co-captain Akilah King (Medford, MA) placed sixteenth in the 200 meter dash in 24.26. King also placed sixteenth in the triple jump, with a best jump of 40-11.75.

Freshman Reginald Cole (Seattle, WA) placed eighteenth in the men's triple jump competition with a best jump of 48-06.00.

Junior co-captain Jamil McClintock (Plainfield, NJ) finished nineteenth in the 110 meter hurdles clocking 14.55.

Freshman Thelma Breezeatl (Manassas, VA) placed 23rd in the 100 meter dash with a 11.99 time.

In the distance events, freshman Jenna Ridgway (Santa Barbara, CA) placed 22nd in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 16:58.39. Sophomore Lindsay Kahn (Port Jefferson, NY) placed 23rd in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, running a 10:43.2.

The NCAA Championships will be held in Sacramento, CA from June 6-9.
