Hanover, NH - The Brown men's indoor track and field team will begin competition at the 2006 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships on Saturday in Hanover, NH. Several individuals are in contention for gold medals, headlined by senior Dallas Dissmore in the 500 meters and senior Ray Bobrownicki in the high jump.
Dissmore posted the top time in the Ivy League during the regular season, running the 500 in a time of 1:02.28 at the BU St. Valentine's Invitational on Feb. 10. Bobrownicki also recorded the top height in the League at the St. Valentine's Invite, jumping 6'11.75". Bobrownicki will be looking to become just the third three-time winner in Heps history.
Other top contenders include sophomore Paul Raymond in the 55 meters. Raymond had the second best time in the league during the season, posting a time of 6.49 at the USATF New England meet on Feb. 19. Sophomore Luke Renick posted the third best time of the season in the 200 meters at the St. Valentine's Invite.
In the 55 meter high hurdles, sophomore Jamil McClintock will look to capture gold. His time of 7.67 at the St. Valentine's Invite was the third-best time throughout the league during the regular season.
Junior Grant Bowen should be in the running for the pole vault title as he recorded the second best mark in the league at the tri-meet with Harvard and Cornell with a 15'5.5" clearance.
Senior Jake Golenor has consistantly been a top contender for the shot put title for the last few years. His throw of 54'3.75" at the Brown Alden Inviational in December, was the second best performance in the league.
