Men's Cross Country Competes at Pre-NCAA Meet

Indiana - The men's cross country team competed at the Pre-Nationals meet today hosted by the Indiana State University. The men took 16th of 35 teams. Several Ivy League teams competed in the race. Brown was only 7 points behind Yale, and ahead of both Princeton and Cornell.

Senior Jeff Gaudette (Biddeford, ME) led the team, finishing the 8-kilometer course in 24:17 and taking the 16th spot overall. Senior captain Patrick Tarpy (Yarmouth, ME) was next in 44th place at 24:48. Junior Owen Washburn (Amherst, MA) finished in 25:17, good for 95th and sophomore Chris Burke (Dexter, MI) took 117th in 25:26. Rounding out the scorers for the Bears, frosh Jacob Nettleton (South Orange, NJ) scored 185th, clocking 26:06.

The Bears compete next at the Heptagonal Championships on October 28th in New York City.
