Limited Squad Competes for Men's XC at New England Champs

Boston, MA - The men's cross country team competed today at the New England Championships in Boston, MA. Racing a limited squad, the Bears took 16th out of a field of 27 teams with a team score of 457. The top seven men were rested in anticipation of the upcoming Pre-NCAA meet. Providence College took the team title with 25 points.

Returning to the cross country lineup were senior Eamonn O'Connor (Dundalk, Ireland) and freshman Ryan Graddy (del Mar, CA). They finished first and second for the Bears, respectively, debuting for the 2004 season after missing the previous meets due to injury.

Finishing in a pack, freshman Alex Enscoe (Berkeley, CA), senior Michael Piche (Pembroke, MA), junior Craig Fountain (Warwick, RI), and freshman Ozzie Myers (Chittenango, NY) crossed the line within two seconds of each other.

The Bears will compete next at the Pre-National meet in Iowa on October 16.
