Brown's John Loeser Places Fourth at BU Invitational

Boston, MA - The Brown Men's Cross Country team came out on top this weekend at the BU Invitational at Franklin Park. Bruno defeated BU (25-34), Harvard (17-44), Manhattan (17-44), and Marist (25-34) and was led by sophomore John Loeser's (Weston, CT) fourth place finish in the 8K with a 26:33.

With four men in the top 10 and seven in the top 17, the Bears rolled by their opponents. Finishing behind Loeser was freshman Sam Sheehan (Woodland, ME) with a 26:34 for sixth, freshman John Haenle (Lockport, NY) with a 26:41 for seventh, and sophomore Colin Brett (Easton, PA) in eighth with a 26:42.

Also running well was freshman Brian Schilder (Milford, NJ) in 16th (27:43), sophomore Scott Cary (Mt. Vernon, WA) in 17th (27:45), and sophomore Alex Stern (Potomac, MD) in 28th (28:53).

Up next, the Bears will compete at the Iona Meet of Champions on Saturday, Sept. 22.
