Men's Track & Field Competes at IC4A Championships at Princeton

Princeton, NJ - The Brown men's track & field team had some strong finishes at the IC4A Championships hosted by Princeton University this afternoon. Leading the way was senior Ozzie Myers (Chittenango, NY), who earned Brown's highest finish of the day (8th) with a time of 9:03.46 in the steeplechase.
Sophomore Duriel Hardy (West Chester, PA) gave a solid effort in the 5,000-meter run, posting a time of 14:28.46 to finish in 12th place. Senior Ryan Graddy (Del Mar, CA) also ran the 5,000 to finish with a 14:43.13.
Sophomore Reginald Cole (Seattle, WA) turned in a ninth place performance in the triple jump, leaping a 48-09.00. In the shot put, sophomore Bryan Powlen (Kewanna. IN) placed 17th with a 49-04.25, and then followed it up with a 10th place performance in the discus with a 159-05. Junior Eric Wood (Eugene, OR) posted a 181-00 in the hammer throw to place 13th overall, and junior Sam Urlacher (Billings, MT) placed 14th in the javelin throw with a 190-08.
Up next, the Bears will compete at the NCAA Regionals held on May 30-31. Competing will be Ikenna Achilihu (Monroe, LA) in the triple jump, and both Myers and senior Nick Sarro (Chatham, NY) in the steeple chase.
