The Bears traveled to the University of Connecticut to compete at the UConn Invitational, where they tied for second place.

Junior co-captain Jake Golenor won the discus in 170-06. Golenor already qualified for NCAA Regionals in the event last week. Junior Kent Walls took third in the event at 162-08. Walls was also third in the hammer throw (170-03).

Senior co-captain Patrick Tarpy debuted for the 2005 season to take second in the 1500m in 3:53.12. Senior Michael Piche took third in the event as multiple men set personal bests. Junior Jordan Kinley took third in the 800m run (1:54.20).

Freshman Will Bernitsky took second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.69. Neil Hamel also earned runner-up points in the 3,000m steeplechase.

Junior Ray Bobrownicki took second in the high jump with a clearance of 6-9. Freshman Brian Zubradt was also second in the pole vault at 14-11. Freshman Deshaun Mars was fourth in the long jump.

Both relay teams took second place points.

The Bears will compete next at the Brown Invitational, to be held at home on April 16.
