Cambridge, MA - The Brown men's indoor track & field team finished in third (74.50) at the Harvard Select Meet on Saturday. Cornell claimed first place (163), followed by UConn (152) in second, Harvard (48) in fourth, and New Hampshire (25.50) in fifth.
In the 60m dash, junior Jonathan Edwards (Roanoke, VA) finished with a 7.16 for fifth place, followed by junior Joseph Mastrangelo's(Plainsboro, NJ) 7.21 for eighth. Brown secured seventh and eighth place finishes in the 200m, with Mastrangelo in seventh with a 22.99, and sophomore Kevin Cervantes (Los Angeles, CA) in eighth with a 23.17.
Senior Nick Sarro was Bruno's top finisher in the one mile run, placing fourth with a 4:13.84. Sophomore Duriel Hardy (West Chester, PA) earned sixth (4:15.16) as sophomore John Loeser (Weston, CT) finished in seventh (4:15.39).
Brown's Sean O'Brien (Westborough, MA) earned third place in the 800m with a 1:54.05, and sophomore Alex Stern (Potomac, MD) finished right behind in fourth with a 1:55.00. In the 3,000m run, senior Ari Zamir (Ridgewood, NJ) was Bruno's top finisher with an 8:20.23 for third place.
In the 60m hurdles, junior Matthew Jasmin posted an 8.32 for fifth place, and Brown's "A" relay squad finish in fifth in the 1,600m relay with a 3:27.65. Brown "A" also earned third place in the distance medley with a time of 10:16.85.
In the field events, Brown's Jordan Maddocks (Framingham, MA) took fifth place (6-04.25), and in the long jump senior Deshaun Mars (Brooklyn, NY) earned third with a 22-03.00. Also posting solid scores in the long jump was sophomore Reginald Cole (Seattle, WA) with a 21-07.25 for sixth, junior Miles Craigwell (Boston, MA) in seventh (21-03.25) and sophomore Andrew Chapin in eighth (21-02.75).
Cole was Brown's top finisher in the triple jump, earning second place with a 48-05.25. Junior Eric Wood (Eugene, OR) claimed second place in the weight throw (53-06.25), and junior Tyler Prince (Daniels, WV) followed right behind with a third place finish (53-05.75). The shot put was lead by Brown's junior David Howard (Columbia, MD) with a 51-00.75 for fourth, as Bryan Powlen (Kewanna, IN) finished in fifth with a 49-11.00.
