PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown University track & field teams hosted the Brown Springtime Invitational at Brown Stadium on Sunday in the final tune-up before the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships.
Zack Emrich (North Kingstown, R.I.) led the men's team on the track as he won the 400 meters in a time of 48.24.
Rookies Kennedy Kerr (West Hempstead, N.Y.) and Zion Lewis (Canton, Ga.) topped the field in the 100 and 200 meters, respectively, in times of 12.11 and 24.85.
Alexis Van Pernis (Kailua Kona, Hawaii) added a first-place finish in the 800 meters as she crossed the line in a time of 2:12.54, while Emma Sloan (Franklin, Tenn.) and Quinn Bornstein (Peacham, Vt.) won the 3,000 and 5,000 meter events in times of 9:48.79 and 18:35.83.
Freshman Calla Isaac (Sherwood Park, Alberta) topped the field in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:03.65.
In the field, Jenell Grier-Spratley (Alexandria, Va.) won the high jump with a cleared height of 5-07.75, and senior Shanelle DeJournett (Knoxville, Tenn.) secured a first-place showing in the long jump with a leap of 18-3.75.
The Bears return to action on May 6-7 for the Ivy League Championships at Yale.
