BOSTON – The Brown men's track & field team compiled several strong performances at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Invitational on Saturday at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
Junior Max Haensel (Raleigh, N.C.) placed tenth out of 123 runners in the 800 meters as he crossed the finish line in a personal-best time of 1:51.49, marking the tenth best time in program history.
Senior Stephen Bourguet (Manhasset, N.Y.) posted a tenth-place finish in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:27.87.
In the field, sophomore Owen Russell (Attleboro, Mass.) was runner-up in the weight throw out of 38 participants with a toss of 63-02.75. Rookie Michael Coppolino (Cumberland, R.I.) and senior Aaron Comery (Coventry, R.I.) were fifth and seventh in the event, respectively, at 56-06.50 and 55-03.50.
Comeroy was also third overall in the shot put, using his second throw for a toss of 53-07.00, while Chris Cubra (Asheville, N.C.) was fourth at 50-06.75.
The Bears will be back in action next weekend at the Armory Collegiate Invitational, URI Coaches Tribute and BU Scarlet and White.
