BOSTON – The Brown men's track & field team set a school record in the 4x400 meter relay as the Bears competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational Saturday at the BU Track & Tennis Center.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Ryan Kelly (Greenwich, Conn.), Zack Emrich (North Kingstown, R.I.), Nik Zemis and Tosin Oyewole (Elkridge, Md.) placed runner-up at 3:10.95 for fourth-best in Ivy League history.
"I couldn't be happier with how hard the relay team competed--very fun to see," said Tim Springfield, Director of Track & Field/Cross country. "If we can bring that competitiveness with us to Heps in two weeks, we'll be in good shape."
Kelly also placed seventh in the 200 meters, crossing in a time of 21:55 for ninth best all time in Ivy League history. Emrich was 11th in the 800 meters in a time of 1:51.41 for eighth all-time in the Brown record books.
In the 3,000 meters, Will Sheeran (Seattle, Wash.) and Eli Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) placed 11th and 12th, respectively, in times of 8:08.60 and 8:09.58 for seventh and 10th all-time in program history.
The women's distance medley relay team of Taylor Worthy (Medfield, Mass.), Jeanine Noordam (San Jose, Calif.), Alexis Van Pernis (Kailua Kona, Hawaii) and Natalie Schudrowitz (Milwaukee, Wis.) was runner-up at 11:39.68 for fourth best in program history.
