AZUSA, Calif. – Senior Evan Weinstock (Las Vegas, Nev.) and junior Peter Rhodes (Atlanta, Ga.) of the Brown men's track & field team turned in a pair of impressive decathlon performances as the duo competed at the prominent Mt. SAC Relays/California Invitational on Wednesday and Thursday at Azusa Pacific's Cougar Stadium.
Rhodes was fourth overall with 6,776 points in the decathlon as he competed among top competition in the "A" group of the California Invitational. Rhodes recorded four top-three finishes, including a victory in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:33.92. He also took second in the long jump (6.82m), second in the discus (39.90m) and third in the high jump (2.02m).
Weinstock took fifth overall with 7,089 points in the top group of the decathlon at the Mt. SAC Relays. Weinstock posted a top-five finish in five different events, including third in the 400 meters (49.91), fourth in the discus (39.96), fifth in the 100 meters (11.04), fifth in the javelin (52.56) and fifth in the 1,500 meters (4:41.09).
The men's and women's track & field teams return to action on April 18-19 for the Larry Ellis Invitational on the campus of Princeton University.
