Providence, RI- Former Brown University javelin standout and the top American javelin thrower in London, Craig Kinsley '11, will be honored with other New England Olympians at Boston's Fenway Park and throw out the first pitch before the Red Sox take on the Kansas City Royals at 7:10 p.m.
Kinsley, one of the best javelin throwers to come out of the Ivy League, tossed a solid 78.18-meter throw at the Olympics but did not qualify for the finals. Kinsley finished 23rd out of 44 throwers and was the best of the three Americans at the Olympics. While at Brown, Kinsley earned All-American status as a sophomore before winning an NCAA title as a junior.
Kinsley was a baseball player at Fairfield Prep in Connecticut until he broke his throwing hand his junior year which fortunately forced him into track & field.
