    Spring Academic All-Ivy Announced The Ivy League released its list of student-athletes selected for 2013 spring Academic All-Ivy, with 10 Brown student-athletes earning recognition. The five men and five women were starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.

Freshman Ned Willig (Phoenixville, PA) and junior Evan Weinstock (Las Vegas, NV) were selected to the first team, while senior co-captain Kenneth Thompson (Riverdale, NY) and sophomore Peter Rhodes (Atlanta, GA) were named to the second team.

    Brown Takes Fourth at Ivy League Heptagonal Championship to Earn Highest Team Finish Since 2006 The Brown men’s track and field program earned fourth place this weekend at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Harvard University with 58 points, the team’s highest finish since 2006. Over the course of the two-day meet, the team’s performances were highlighted by two individual titles and two runner-up finishes, in addition to a new school record by junior Evan Weinstock (Las Vegas, NV).

    Brown Wins Two Titles at the URI Coaches Tribute Invitational The Brown men’s track and field team competed at the URI Track & Field Coaches Tribute Invitational in Kingston, Rhode Island on Saturday. The competition was held in URI’s Mackal Fieldhouse, and included athletes from Providence College, Bryant, Rhode Island, UNH, Fordham and several other schools. The Bears scored 48 points to tie for 7th place, while Rhody won the men’s title with 193 points overall.

    Craig Kinsley '11: Update from London Olympics By virtue of his third-place showing in the javelin at the U.S. Trials in late June, and a personal-record in early June of 82.31-meters / 270'-0.5" that surpassed the requisite qualifying standard, former Brown University track and field standout Craig Kinsley '11 earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team, becoming the second graduate in as many Olympics to don the US uniform (Anna Pierce (nee Willard) '06, 3000-meter Steeplechase, Beijing 2008). In late July, he moved his preparations to Team USA's training camp in Birmingham, England, and recently settled into the Athlete's Olympic Village in London. Craig has been soaking up his experience while staying focused on the Qualification Round this Wednesday at 2:05pm Easter Time (details on how to watch are below).
