Track & Field Competes at ECAC/IC4A’s
Cambridge, MA- The Brown University track & field team competed at the 2012 ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston, Mass. this weekend.
In the IC4A's, sophomore John Spooney ran the 200m dash in 21.40 seconds to finish in sixth place, and ran a 6.99 in the 60m dash preliminaries. Also, Kenneth Thompson came in 14th in the triple jump with a distance of 47-03.50 (14.41m).
Also, a small group of distance runners competed in New York on Saturday at the Columbia Last Chance meet.
"Overall, we had a very productive evening," said men's distance coach Tim Springfield. "Both Grogan and Savage had significant breakthroughs, and it was good to see Duffy end his season with a lifetime PR. Cooper and Berg competed very well also. All together, the group put four more performances on Brown's all-time top 10 list, so it was a good night."
For the women in the ECAC Championships, Susan Scavone finished in seventh in the 60m hurdle semi-finals with an 8.60, and the Bears' 4x400m relay team finished in fourth in the prelims with a 3:45.26.
