Brown Track & Field Program Optimistic For The Future
Providence, Rhode Island - Following several outstanding
individual performances at the Indoor Heptagonal Championships,
Brown’s interim head coach for Track & Field and Cross
Country, Michelle Eisenreich, and her coaching staff, have reason
to be optimistic about the future of the Bears’ men’s
and women’s track & field and cross country programs.
“Our entire coaching staff ¬- George Evans, Jill Miller,
Kevin Myles and
Kendra Reimer ¬- has done an outstanding job developing our
current
student-athletes,” said Eisenreich.
“We’re enthusiastic about the potential of the
program, and are ready to work very hard to make sure that
potential is realized. The energy and attention the detail our
coaches bring to developing work-outs, recruiting and performing
day-to-day tasks, will drive the program forward to higher levels
of success.”
In addition to the contribution of the coaching staff, Eisenreich
will rely heavily on the leadership of the team's current
student-athletes as she looks to the spring outdoor season and
beyond.
“We have several athletes who are competing at a national
level,” said Eisenreich. “Our goal is to develop the
younger talent and broaden the depth of our team by bringing in
national caliber student-athletes.”
Recruiting has gone well for the program and the Class of 2014 is
expected to have several immediate contributors.
“While recruiting is an ongoing process, our staff has done
a great job of identifying future Brunonians.” said
Eisenreich. “We have a very balanced class with outstanding
recruits in the distance, sprints, jumps and throws areas.”
